Misunderstanding Taochen
"There's nothing to explain, i saw what i saw" Tao growled as he picked up his pace. He was beyond mad and seeing Jongdae would only make it worse.
"But it's not what you think!" Jongdae cried out, this time he succeeded in holding Tao's wrist and stopped him for a few seconds. "It's a misunderstanding, really!"
Tao swiftly turned around and Jongdae almost bumped into his toned chest but stopped himself on time. The look on Tao's face was so fierce that it scared Jongdae a little. Before Jongdae could explain what really happened, Tao stopped him with a question. "Did you or did you not kiss him?"
Jongdae gulped and he looked at Tao nervously. His grip around Tao's wrist tightened just a little. "I did, but -"
"That's all i need to hear" Tao hissed and yanked his hand away. "We're done"
Jongdae's mouth hung open as he stared at the back of Tao getting further away. He blinked for a moment before fully grasping the whole situation. His boyfriend of 3 years just dumped him before even listening to his reason. Jongdae collapsed on the ground, his mouth closed slightly only to be parted again.
"Shit shit shit" He cussed, picking himself up with his legs and jogged toward Tao's direction but the taller male was no where in sight.
The next week was hell for Jongdae. He tried to talk to Tao so many times but each time he would end up being pushed away by Tao in the middle of campus. When he got back to his dorm room, a box of items he had given to Tao during the 3 years of their relationship was sitting in front of the door. He sighed before picking it up and letting himself in. Jongdae glanced over to the bed and groaned, he had to sleep by himself again. Before the break up, he would sleep over at Tao's room or vice versa, either that or he would talk to Tao on the phone until he falls asleep because Jongdae had a hard time sleeping and Tao knew that.
Another week went by and Jongdae was sure he was in hell because everything just hurt so damn much. He couldn't stop thinking about Tao, he couldn't stop calling which resulted in his number being blocked, he even tried his friends' numbers to call and the results were always the same. He missed Tao, he missed his kisses and his bone breaking hugs.
"He's still not talking to you?" Luhan, one of his friends and also one of the reasons he got in trouble with Tao, asked.
"Ughhh" Jongdae groaned, burying his face in his palms and faked a sob.
"Pff, just get over him. There are many fish in the sea" Luhan said nonchalantly before shoving the apple in his mouth and earned a glare from Jongdae. Luhan just said the sentence or the so called advice that Jongdae hated the most. Of course he knew there are many fish in the sea but he didn't want some damn fish, he wanted Tao.
"That's easy for you to say! I love him!" Jongdae whined and flung his arms around dramatically, getting himself a few judging glares from nearby students.
"Calm down Jongdae, it'll be okay" Minseok, the nicer friend, said while patting Jongdae on the back and it helped a little, just a little until Luhan decided to speak again.
"He needs to grow a pair and get over it, it's just a damn kiss" Luhan rolled his eyes and threw away his half-eaten apple in the trash. He complained that it was too sour in which Minseok scolded him for wasting food.
"Grow a pair?" Jongdae growled, sending many dagger glares toward Luhan. "How would you feel if someone kisses Minseok?"
Luhan's face fell and he glanced at Minseok then back at Jongdae again. "Minseok wouldn't kiss anyone other than me but even so, i wouldn't break up with him just like that. I would rather kill the guy that kisses him first and then listen to his explanation"
"So you would be okay with Tao killing Kris because of your stupid ass dare?" Jongdae hissed and towered over the table but it didn't add much effect since he was too short.
"Well, no. Kris is our friend and that wouldn't be very nice but -" Luhan was cut off by a pair of soft hand covering his mouth.
"Babe, i think you should stop talking" Minseok commented and Luhan nodded.
"Jongdae" Minseok sighed. "Just give him some times to cool off and then approach him"
"Some times? It's been 2 weeks!" Jongdae frowned and plopped his head on the dirty lunch table which made Minseok cringed a bit, considered he's a bit of a clean freak.
"What if he's totally over me? What if he doesn't love me anymore? Oh gosh" Jongdae continued while repeatedly banged his head on the table.
"Jongdae, i don't think he's over you" Yixing, who's been really quiet since the beginning of this conversation suddenly spoke up. "I mean at least not yet" He remarked and got himself kicked by Minseok.
"Ow!" Yixing whined and scowled at Minseok before turning back to Jongdae. "What i mean is i know he still loves you, i saw the way he looks at you in class when you're too damn busy staring outside the window. He definitely still loves you, he's just hurt. That's all"
"What should i do?" Jongdae pouted
"Well, like Minseok said, just give him some times to -" Yixing trailed off and Jongdae could see the nervousness on his face. It took him a minute to realized that Luhan and Minseok also had the same expression on their faces. It took him another minutes to finally followed their gaze only to find Tao flirting with some other guy only a few tables away from them. And what came next got Jongdae clenching his fists tightly, the guy leaned over and kissed Tao, right on the damn lips and Jongdae couldn't control himself any longer.
He marched over to them and pulled the guy right out of Tao's arm and punched him before he could protest. Despite being small, Jongdae could really throw a punch and most students knew that. He then glared at the surprised Tao and shoved him off the table, not forgetting to punch him twice as hard. Not long after a crowd already formed around them and Jongdae could hear people making stupid remarks but he couldn't careless.
"You fucking jerk!" He screamed, not caring that he just created a big scene in the middle of the cafeteria. He took in a deep breath to stop himself from crying because Kim Jongdae doesn't cry. He gawked at the crowd surrounding them as if asking if they wanted a piece of this and everyone backed away. After realizing what he had done, Jongdae stormed out of the cafeteria and started running. Suddenly, everything became such a blur to him, he kept on running until he was yanked back by his wrist and ended up slamming against the wall.
"What the fuck was that?" He blinked and found Tao hovering over him, so dangerously close and Jongdae could see a small cut on Tao's lips and he felt a bit guilty, just a bit because Tao deserved it.
"What was what?" He spat back and Tao growled, inching a bit closer to Jongdae's face.
"The cafeteria! Why did you do that?" Tao's piercing eyes made him look really hot that moment and Jongdae really wanted to kiss him then and there because he looked quite sexy with his slightly damped hair (probably because of the sweat from all the running) and the way his hot breath feel on Jongdae's skin. But he was too mad to do that.
"You're seriously asking me why?" He scoffed and Tao clenched his teeth, slamming his hands against the wall on either sides of Jongdae's head.
"So it's okay for you to kiss someone but when it's me you get mad?" Tao hissed. "FYI, we're not even together anymore" Jongdae could see smirk forming at the corner of Tao's mouth.
His words cut Jongdae deep like a knife and he finally realized Tao's motives. His now ex-boyfriend was trying to hurt him, not just to make him jealous but to actually hurt him. Jongdae found his hands curled into fists by his sides and he was angry. He never would have thought Tao would actually do something like that to hurt him on purpose because he knew he would never do that to Tao. For Tao to do something like that was just low and Jongdae was disgusted and hurt.
"I fucking told you it's not what you think!" Jongdae screamed. "Did you really think i would kiss someone willingly when we're together? when i'm fucking in love with you?"
Tao just stared at him, his eyes softened a little and Jongdae went on.
"I would never cheat on you and you know it, i would never do anything to hurt you on purpose like what you're doing to me!" Jongdae just went on full sobbing mode and it shocked Tao, a lot. He couldn't believe that Jongdae was crying because of him because from what he knew, Jongdae doesn't cry. Never once in their 3 years relationship had Jongdae shed a tear before. He must have hurt him a lot.
"T-then why did you kiss that guy?" Tao asked, his thumbs were on Jongdae's cheeks to wipe the tears away but to his surprise, Jongdae pushed him away.
"Don't touch me" Jongdae sniffed and wiped his own tears. "Like you said, we're not together anymore so i don't have to explain myself to you"
The next two weeks were hell, but this time it was for Tao. Because he finally found out that the kiss was fully Luhan's fault. The latter dared Kris (who never ever turn down a dare) to kiss Jongdae and it happened before Jongdae could even protest, Tao saw and went Godzilla on him without even listening to his reasons and hurt the person he loved the most. He regretted it and tried so many methods to take Jongdae back but failed miserably every times.
When Jongdae opened the door on a fine Sunday morning, he almost fainted when he found a body lying at his front step. It only took a few seconds to see who it was. His heart dropped because the way Tao curled his body and used Jongdae's welcome mat to keep his body warm was quite pathetic. It made him felt so bad because he didn't want Tao to get sick but they weren't together so he shouldn't care, except he did. He didn't know he was staring until Tao opened his eyes and stared back.
"J-jongdae!" Tao gasped, getting off the ground and reached out for Jongdae's hand. "Jongdae please listen to me"
"Why should i? You never listened to me" Jongdae snapped and rolled his eyes with his arms folded at his chest.
"Because you're not me, because you're not a horrible person like me" Tao pleaded and Jongdae frowned. Tao wasn't a horrible person, he was a bit possessive and stupid at times but he wasn't horrible, Jongdae wouldn't fall in love with a horrible person.
"I'm really sorry Jongdae! I really am" Tao said as he gripped Jongdae's hand tighter. "I was jealous and stupid but it was all because i love you so much and i was so scared when i saw you kissing Kris. I mean, Kris is really good looking and popular too and i felt to insecure. I was so afraid that you didn't love me anymore and that you were going to break up with me so i broke up with you first, hoping that it wouldn't hurt me so much but it obviously didn't work. It hurt me like hell and i am so sorry i hurt you. I never wanted to hurt you"
"Then why did you kiss that guy?"
"It was just a stupid blur of a moment thing, i swear i don't have feeling for him. I was kinda hoping you would stop us the entire time and i was really happy when you came over until ... you know, you punched me ..."
Jongdae sighed as the memory flashed right before his eyes and it made him feel really guilty. His hand unconsciously reached out for Tao's face and caressed it gently, his finger ghosting lightly over Tao's lips and Tao leaned in a little.
"Please forgive me, i know i was really stupid and i really miss you. I swear i'll listen to you from now on and i'll do whatever it takes to make you happy. Just, please take me back. I really can't go another day knowing that you hate me and i really can't sleep without you by my side or listening to your beautiful voice."
Jongdae had to bite the inside of his cheeks to keep himself from smiling because Tao looked so adorable like a puppy begging for his owner's love. Jongdae wasn't mad anymore, actually he stopped being mad the minute Tao apologized but he just wanted to hear the things Tao would say and he was glad he did that. Jongdae could tell all the k-dramas Tao watched finally came in handy.
"Gosh, you're cheesy and for the record, i never hated you" Jongdae remarked as he poked Tao's shoulder playfully. "But you'll do whatever it takes?"
Tao's lips curved into a small smile and he closed the gap between their bodies by wrapping his long arms around Jongdae's waist. "I'll do anything as long as it makes you happy"
Jongdae stood on the tips of his toes to bring his face closer to Tao's but he didn't kiss Tao, he liked teasing him that way. "Is that a promise?"
"Hm ..." Tao hummed, he was already getting high from Jongdae's scent. "Jongdae, if you don't kiss me i -"
And so Jongdae did it, he grabbed Tao's head and slammed their lips together. It was a bit harder than he intended but it didn't matter because he was now kissing Tao. Tao cradled Jongdae's cheek with one hand while the other still placed around his waist and Jongdae had his fingers threaded in Tao's hair. They kissed each other hungrily and Tao had to press Jongdae against the wall to support their bodies. Breaking away once in a while to fill their lungs with oxygen but that seemed to only make them want each other even more and somehow they ended up on Jongdae's bed, sweaty bodies tangled in each other and torn clothes lying everywhere on the floor.
"Hey Jongdae ..." Tao whispered quietly, his fingers playing with Jongdae's black hair.
"Hm" Jongdae hummed back a reply while resting his face on Tao's sweaty chest and drawing random patterns on his stomach.
"Can you like ... not ... hang around Luhan ... when he's in the mood for truth or dare?" Tao mumbled in Jongdae's hair, trying hard to hide his blushing face but it didn't matter because Jongdae couldn't see him anyway.
Jongdae chuckled and wrapped his arms around Tao's waist. "Okay ... i'll try"
